Epsom Hospital Radio is only broadcast to patients staying at Epsom General Hospital who have either a Hospedia screen by their bed, or a Nurse Call system.

The two systems available in Epsom General Hospital, Hospedia and Nurse Call

HOSPEDIA

The following wards have a hospedia screen by their bed: Derby, Oaks (Denbies Wing); Alexandra, Chuter Ede, Gloucester, (Wells Wing); Simon Stewart (Maternity Wing); Casey Ward (Headley Wing).

We are free to listen to on beds fitted with a Hospedia screen, all that is required is for you to register your Hospedia set.

The screen on you bedside set is a touchscreen, so if you tap a button on the screen, it will take you to whatever the description of the button says it will take you to.

To register your Hospedia Screen to listen to Epsom Hospital Radio, and this might sound a little odd, press the screen on the button which says "TV & Phone" as demonstrated by the picture on the left.

The picture on the right shows the three steps you will need to complete to register your set. On the first screen to appear, enter your title, eg Mr, Mrs etc then press continue. Unfortunately there is no option for Sir, Lord or Lady.

On the screen that follows, use the on-screen keyboard to enter the initial of your first name, the screen will then jump automatically to the next box where you can again use the on-screen keyboard to enter your surname, then press the continue button.

Finally, enter your date of birth and press continue. Your screen will now be registered for you to listen to Epsom Hospital Radio free of charge.

Epsom Hospital Radio is on Channel 1, titled "Hospital Radio" this should be the first radio station to come up once you've pressed the "Listen to Radio" button as detailed in the previous step. If it says you are listening to a different radio station, use the channel up/down buttons, either on the screen in the bottom right, or one of the physical buttons just below till you come to channel 1.

If you have been watching the television, which is one of the services you do have to pay for, you can find the radio by pressing the "Return to Main Menu" button on the screen, or the "Main Menu" button located just to the left of the power button.


How to use Nurse Call NURSE CALL

The following wards have a Nurse Call system by their bed: Northey Suite (Wells Wing).

If your bed has nurse call system by it, you can find us on channel number 11. There is no registration required, this diagram demonstrates how to find us.

The nurse call systems requirse a special kind of headphones, if you do not have a pair, please ask a nurse.


The Old Nurse Call System, which no longer works for radio. OLD NURSE CALL / NOT AVAILABLE

The following wards currently have the old Nurse call system: Buckley (Wells Wing).

Unfortunately, the beds which have the old nurse call system currently have no way of listening to Epsom Hospital Radio.

Patients staying on the Langley Wing (Britten, Croft, Elgar, Fenby, Gershwin and Holst wards) also have means of listening to Epsom Hospital Radio.
