The Question & Answer Zone...

What's your favourite genre of music?

Without sounding too pretentious I would like to say I have a pretty eclectic taste in music, certainly I try to dip in and out of different genres and keep and an ear out for anything new that sounds good.

Right now if I’m listening to something it’s either classic guitary rock like Thin Lizzy and The Who, or weird new folky stuff like Arcade Fire and Bon Iver.

When you're not at Epsom Hospital Radio, what are you doing?

Too much. I’m trying to break in to the radio industry (sadly Epsom Hospital won’t pay any of us presenters just yet) so I spend my days working for free at various radio stations or doing my horrible part time job (let’s just say call centre, and leave it at that).

If you had £1,000,000 to spend on yourself and no-one else what would you spend it on?

A nice flat, a new car, and some driving lessons (the car would be a bit pointless without the lessons).

What is your ideal holiday destination?

Somewhere exciting, maybe Hong Kong or New York, skyscrapers and a bit of a nightlife really.

What is your favourite film?

The Royal Tenenbaums, weird, hilarious, poignant, and every time I watch it I notice something new!

What is your favourite TV programme?

Of all time? The sitcom Spaced with Simon Pegg. A real slice of fried gold.

Who is your favourite comedian?

I saw Russell Howard live a while back and he was hilarious, a really weird mix of childish excitement and madness.

Who is your favourite sports team/star?

Fulham F.C.

What is your favourite drink?

Depends on the situation really, I’m going to go with my hangover cure; really sweet hot chocolate. It always makes me feel a million times better after a night out.

What is your favourite food?

My own Spaghetti Bolognese. Egotistical? Yes. But I really make the best Spaghetti Bolognese you’ll ever eat.

What inspires you?

People doing what they want in life, not just settling with what they’ve got.

Middle name?

James, conveniently making my initials DJ, a sign from the radio gods perhaps?

Star sign?

Gemini, it doesn’t mean anything though, just reminds me of a cab company at university.

Weird & wonderful talents?

I have a strange belly button. Is that a talent?

Most treasured belongings?

My signed copy of the DVD of Shaun of the Dead, a friend got it signed for me and Simon Pegg crossed out Shaun and wrote Dan.

Favourite smell?

Napalm. But only in the mornings.
